Job Summary:

The Corporate Counsel will serve as a trusted legal advisor to the company, providing guidance on corporate governance, contracts, compliance, and regulatory matters. The role involves managing legal risks, negotiating agreements, and supporting the business in achieving its strategic goals while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate should possess strong business acumen and the ability to balance legal considerations with practical business solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of business contracts — including vendor agreements, client contracts, NDAs, and partnership documents.
  • Advise on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and company structuring.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate, labor, intellectual property, and data protection laws.
  • Liaise with external counsel and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Support management in policy formulation, decision-making, and risk management.
  • Conduct legal training and awareness sessions for internal teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Law (LLB / LLM).
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in corporate or commercial law.
  • Proven experience in contract management, compliance, and legal advisory roles.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and attention to detail.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in a corporate legal department or law firm specializing in business law.
  • Exposure to international contracts, cross-border transactions, or regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of data protection, intellectual property, and employment law.
