Job Summary:
The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in civil, commercial, or criminal legal proceedings, managing all aspects of litigation from case assessment through trial and appeal. The role requires strong analytical skills, courtroom experience, and the ability to build compelling arguments while maintaining high ethical and professional standards. The attorney will collaborate closely with clients, senior partners, and support staff to deliver effective legal representation and strategic advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, pleadings, discovery, hearings, trials, and appeals.
- Draft and review legal documents such as complaints, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research to support litigation strategy and argument development.
- Represent clients before courts, tribunals, and arbitration panels.
- Negotiate settlements and manage dispute resolution processes.
- Maintain effective communication with clients regarding case status, developments, and strategy.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and experts to prepare evidence and trial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with filing deadlines, procedural requirements, and ethical standards.
- Keep abreast of changes in litigation laws, rules, and precedents.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) — LLM preferred.
- Minimum 3–10 years of experience in litigation or dispute resolution practice.
- Registered and licensed to practice law with the Bar Council.
- Excellent oral advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills.
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in one or more specialized areas such as civil, commercial, corporate, labor, or criminal litigation.
- Familiarity with alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms — arbitration, mediation, or conciliation.
- Prior experience in client counseling and litigation strategy formulation.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with qualifications and litigation experience.
